THE REDISCOVERY OF
FLORENCE PRICE
An old run down house in Chicago revealed
treasures that were forgotten over the
decades.  It was the music of Florence Price,
the first African-American woman who's
composition was performed by a major
symphony orchestra in the United States, the
Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 1933. Two
compositions from that find have been
recorded.
